Setting up business departments

On the Tellofy platform, departments would map to key business areas or functions of your business for which you intend to gather review and feedback. For e.g. a restaurant may want to gather reviews for general cleanliness and hygiene. For this, a department 'Operations' can be defined. Each question in a survey is linked to a department. This allows for the system to be able to provide better insights.

At the time of your account creation, a default set of commonly used business departments are automatically added for you. You can use these departments as-is or you can make changes based on your use case.

Managing Departments

Login to the platform and go to Build-> Departments menu. All departments that are available for your account will be listed on the screen.



From this screen you can:

  • Add a new department
  • Edit a department
  • Delete a Department


Adding a department

To add a new department, click the + sign on the Add Department box available on the screen.


A popup to add details of the new department will be displayed.

Enter a name for the new department. Do note that department names must be unique. Now, click the “SAVE” button. The department will be saved and will be added to the list.

Any department that you add, is available to all stores/locations setup under your account.

 

Searching for a Department

On the top of the screen there is a search box. Enter the name of the department you want to search for in the Search box.

The department list will be filtered to show a list of departments which have names beginning with the letters entered. To cancel the search and clear the filter, click the x icon within the search box.

 

Editing a Department

You can edit a department name, to do so, locate the department in the list and click the Edit icon available for the department.


Make changes to the department name and click on “Save” for the changes to take effect.

 

Deleting a Department

Locate the department that you wish to delete, and click on the Delete link.


Once you confirm the action the department will be deleted. Do note that in case a department has questions associated with it, then it cannot be deleted. If you still want to delete the department, you have to either delete the associated questions in the survey or associate the questions to another department. However, once a survey is completed by a customer, then the associated departments cannot be deleted.
